ABI

AgroBioInstitute (ABI) is a state research institution in the structure of the Agricultural Academy (AA), belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), Bulgaria. One of the main activities of ABI has been systematic molecular marker characterization of the Bulgarian genetic resources and biodiversity of economically important crops (wheat, barley, grapevine, oil-bearing rose, sunflower etc.), naturally growing plants (small berries, wild grapevine, resurrection plants, etc.), economically important animal (cattle, swine), fish (turbot) and microorganisms (yoghurt producing bacteria, soil plant pathogenic bacteria, thermophilic microorganisms etc.).
ABI carries out these studies in collaboration with the respective national breeding research institutes and universities, gaining experience on complex phenotyping and genotyping data management and processing.

IVE

The Institute of Viticulture and Ecology (IVE) is a state research institution in the structure of the Agricultural Academy (AA), belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), Bulgaria. IVE carries out applied research and plant production activities in the field of viticulture and wine. IVE maintains a grapevine collection, containing more than 1700 accessions including V. vinifra cultivars, clones, other Vitis specis and rootstocks.
